Marketing Director South Asia, Corteva Agriscience

Aruna Rachakonda is the Marketing Director of Corteva Agriscience™ for South Asia. She is responsible for leading marketing team and developing long and mid-term strategies for Corteva’s business in South Asia. In addition to the business teams, Aruna is also responsible for shared value initiatives, delivering on Corteva Sustainability goals in South Asia.

In over a year at Corteva, she led marketing teams in various product launches in crop protection and seed, direct seeded rice (DSR) initiatives and delivery on shared value initiatives.

Aruna has ~16 years of experience across working in the small holder geographies across several countries in Asia. After starting her career as a Scientist with the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), she was with Advanta and Monsanto in various strategy, marketing and business roles across Asia.

Prior to Corteva, Aruna was heading the Marketing function at South East Asia for Monsanto and was the Country Director for Vietnam with the overall business responsibility. Under her leadership across the years, teams have been able to successfully launch biotech traits in SE Asia, Integrated solutions across several geographies.

Aruna earned her master’s degree in Genetics from Osmania University, Doctorate in Genetics from ICRISAT and Osmania University, Hyderabad. She completed her executive MBA from the Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad.

Born in India, lived and worked in Singapore and Vietnam. She is currently based at Hyderabad, India. Away from work, Aruna is a fitness enthusiast, she practices Yoga and is a regular jogger. Her current reading interests are hovering around digital marketing and financial analysis.

Aruna is married to Srinivas Rupakula and their son, Abhishek is pursuing his master’s in data sciences and daughter Bhavana is in middle school.
