Mathew Nelson

Mathew is EY’s Global Leader for Climate Change and Sustainability Services. He is a member of the Global Financial Accounting and Advisory Services executive leadership team and is EY Oceania’s Chief Sustainability Officer. He has nearly 20 years’ experience in providing advisory and assurance services related to sustainable finance, long term value, nonfinancial reporting, climate change, outcomes measurement and valuation, green and social impact bonds and environment, health and safety. He has significant experience across a range of sectors including financial services, resources, consumer products and manufacturing. He also has provided commercial advice to the cleantech sector and government. Mat is the chair of the Australian chapter of the Earthwatch Institute, a member of the TCFD and he holds a master’s degree in Environment and a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of Melbourne.
