
Renata Dessallien
United Nations Resident Coordinator in India
Ms Renata Dessallien has served the United Nations for 30 years in Africa and Asia in many capacities, including 15 years as a UN Resident Coordinator, Humanitarian Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative. Before taking up her assignment as UN Resident Coordinator in India, she was a senior fellow at the Oslo Governance Centre at UNDP in Norway. Prior to that she was UN Resident/Humanitarian Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Bhutan, Bangladesh, China and Myanmar between 2002 and 2017. She also served in various capacities with the UN in Mali, Laos and in New York, making important contributions in the field of good governance and poverty reduction. She holds a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University, a Master of Arts from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Ottawa.
