Gopal is currently working as Senior Vice President & Business Leader for South Asia Region at Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions. He is responsible for All Commercial Operations in the region as well as Operations of Global CoE’s based in India. 

Prior to joining Veolia WTS, Gopal worked as Corporate Vice President, Global Operations, Globalization and Transformation at Wabtec Corporation, during this role he was responsible for Engineering Operations, Quality, Governance, Engineering Tools, Global Labs and Transformation Initiatives.  

Prior to this role, Gopal led India Engineering Centre as well as Global Locomotive Systems Engineering Group for Wabtec. During this time he consolidated India site as the Largest Technology site for Wabtec and Integrated all the BU’s , he was also instrumental in developing strong International Locomotive business in the last 5 to 10 years with active customer engagement, product strategy, proposal efforts , system engineering & program management. Gopal led Engineering, Product Management, Cost out and Localization efforts for India Rail Project which GE / Wabtec has successfully executed. 

Gopal joined GE Transportation (Wabtec now) 22+ Years ago as Design engineer, since then he has taken increased leadership responsibilities in India and US and played key role in building strong Global Technology & Locomotive Organization, he demonstrated his expertise in the areas of Engine design & development,  Rail road domain, System engineering, Program Management, Customer connect / collaboration, Product strategy, Design to Value, Lean Six Sigma, etc,. 

Prior to joining GE, Gopal worked at Ashok Leyland , Hosur for about 5 years in their Engine R&D department where he lead Engine performance and industrialization efforts 

Gopal is a Mechanical Engineer with specialization in IC Engines, he is married to Sujatha and he has two kids, Abhilash 20 and Akanksha 14, he is located in Bangalore. He enjoys Cricket and Carnatic Music.
