Divya Sharma is an International climate and urban development expert, specialising in climate resilience and urban development planning with almost 20 years’ experience operating throughout India and internationally. She has a Doctorate in urban climate resilience and a Master’s in urban development planning. In her career, she has worked in various capacities, 'wearing different hats', including being a thought leader and knowledge communicator, a policy planning consultant, a keen researcher and an academician, as well as a leader-mentor to fellow colleagues.

She has worked extensively with national, state and municipal governments in India and internationally; regional, national and international development agencies and foundations and international research community and academia. She is on a number of prestigious advisory positions on international and national networks for sustainable development, as well as international and national level climate change.

Before joining the Climate Group, Divya led the Urban Policy and Planning Portfolio at Oxford Policy Management Limited (OPM) - a development consulting firm based in Oxford, here in the UK. At OPM Divya setup and developed OPM’s new urban policy and planning portfolio and lead international and national assignments within the urban and climate space. Before OPM. Divya also worked at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI)- India’s premier think tank and research centre on climate change, environment and sustainable development. It was here that she led the Centre for Research in Urban Development and Transport Systems and set up a new vertical on climate resilience.

In her 'spare' time, Divya is a Yoga enthusiast, an amateur terracotta artist and also loves to sketch, cook and travel'.
